Director of Cancer Health Equity Initiatives
In her role as Director of Cancer Health Equity Initiatives, Maigenete oversees the diverse, equitable, and inclusive strategic initiatives that further the Wellness House vision and mission. Maigenete joined the Wellness House team in 2014 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Masters of Arts degree, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology, all from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a member of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society. Maigenete continues to be impressed by the ripple effect of positivity that unfolds when people come together in the support groups at Wellness House; she also finds great reward in encountering the resiliency of the human spirit during what often can be traumatic times in many participants’ lives. Maigenete’s interests include watching documentaries and reading biographies.
