A family finding its way through grief

When Theresa first drove her children to Wellness House, blue ribbons lined the road. Blue had always been her late husband Brett’s color. Seeing them brought an unexpected comfort, as though he were helping guide them toward the support they needed.

After Brett died of colon cancer, Theresa was trying to help Maddie and Max understand life without their father. Maddie found comfort among children who understood her loss. Max, who had been just two when Brett died, grew frightened that he might develop cancer and die, too.
