Community Relations Advocate
In her role as Community Relations Advocate-Maria focuses on ensuring the success of psychosocial programs in partnerships with UI/Health- Mile Square Health Center and other Chicago based Medical Centers. Her work involves building and maintaining professional relationships with medical providers, community members, and collaborative organizations. She joined the Wellness House team in 2023 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Master of Art in Management from Columbia College Chicago. She is bilingual (English/Spanish) and has a rich and diversified background in Community Health and Human Resources. Maria is passionate about supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within underserved communities. Her interests include family time, recreational travel, cultural experiences, dance, and international cuisine.
