Day of Remembrance

Saturday, September 16, 12:00-2:00 p.m.

Registration Required

When a loved one dies, we enter into some of life’s most turbulent and troubled waters. Dr. Thom Dennis will share with us the Grief River® model for understanding loss, and offer tips for negotiating our way through the “waves” of grief, and guide us to places of safe harbor. Thom Denis, D.Min., LCPC, CT, has been the Bereavement Services Coordinator at NorthShore Hospice in Skokie, Illinois and has over 25 years of experience helping grieving families as a counselor, hospital PRN chaplain, and parish minister. He is the creator of Grief River,® a nature-inspired approach to understanding grief and loss over the course of the entire lifespan. For more information, please visit: www.griefriver.com. Children and teens are welcome to attend this event; we will provide a separate space for children, and will provide child-friendly activities that will parallel the major themes of the program for adults. Please register children individually and separately so that we are aware of who will be attending.

When you register for this event, please consider sending a digital photo of your loved one to be included in the slide presentation at the beginning of our time together. Please send your photo to Beth Possley by  Wednesday, September 13, at bpossley@wellnesshouse.org.  Light refreshments will be served.
